Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Mohbad, has come under public scrutiny following a viral video addressing issues surrounding his grandson, Liam.
The clip, recorded during a street interview, shows him responding to questions about ongoing discussions regarding a possible DNA test involving the child. The video quickly spread online, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some criticising the public nature of the conversation.
In the footage, Joseph Aloba dismissed claims that a DNA test had already been carried out, explaining that the matter remains before the court and no such procedure has taken place.
“There’s nothing like that, because the adjournment case is going to be on the 7th of April and we’re still in March, so there’s nothing like the DNA being done,” he said.
When asked for further clarification, he indicated that he had previously shared his position and preferred not to repeat himself, directing those interested to his online platforms for more information.
“I’ve said a lot already. I don’t want to be repeating myself. Anybody that wants to know anything about the DNA should go to my YouTube channel or my TikTok and they’ll see everything there,” he stated.
He also expressed frustration over what he described as external interference, alleging that certain influential individuals within Lagos State were complicating the situation.
“The main issue troubling me involves Lagos State. With one powerful man involved, they are trying to use this situation to frustrate me. I’m not happy, as you can see,” Baba Mohbad added.
