Nigerian content creator Peller has clarified that his widely shared clash with comedian Carter Efe was not genuine, but a carefully planned stunt.
The incident, which involved visible damage to both individuals’ vehicles, originally took place during a livestream in February and quickly gained traction across social media. According to Peller, the confrontation was intentionally staged as part of a strategy to capture attention and generate income through online engagement and sponsorship opportunities.
The episode occurred shortly after Carter Efe received a brand-new 2025 Toyota Corolla from businessman E-Money in celebration of his birthday. During the livestream, Peller was seen climbing onto the vehicle, causing dents to the roof. In response, Carter Efe smashed Peller’s windscreen with a stone, prompting a retaliatory act that also left the newly gifted car damaged.
The dramatic exchange sparked widespread reactions, with many viewers criticising the destruction of what were perceived as valuable assets.
However, speaking during a recent livestream conversation, Peller explained that there was no real conflict between them and that the scene was orchestrated purely for content creation purposes.
“That one na for stream. In real life, me and Carter Efe cannot destroy each other’s cars. We use money find money. Na so life be. As we break glass, dem give us brand new car. Na so life be.”
His statement appears to support earlier speculation that the incident was staged, particularly after E-Money reportedly gifted Peller a new car and provided Carter Efe with €5,000 to repair the damaged vehicle.
